TOP TEN LIST

I'm always on the lookout for useful tools, tips and tricks to share. Here are my current top ten favorites and go-to sites, enjoy.

01. THE COLORBOOK

The Colorbook was created as a solution to discovering the awesome color schemes used in shots on Dribbble, which is incredibly tedious in its current state. With The Colorbook, color trends can effortlessly be compared on a day to day basis, or even fall back into time using the timeline.

02. A BOOK APART

A Book Apart publishes detailed, meticulously edited examinations of single topics. The perfect size in terms of subject depth and coverage for topics ranging from technical to theory: responsive web design, git, and javascript to content strategy, design principles, public speaking, and more.

03. INTERACTIVE DESIGN FOUNDATION

Established in Denmark in 2002, this is an independent nonprofit initiative with an objective that may sound like a paradox—”to raise the level of global design education to an Ivy League standard, while at the same time reducing costs to as low as they can possibly take them.” Phenomenal content!

04. PATTERN LAB

Pattern Lab helps you and your team build thoughtful, pattern-driven user interfaces using atomic design principles.

At its core, Pattern Lab is a static site generator (powered by either PHP or Node) that stitches together UI components. But there's a whole lot more to it than that!

05. STYLEGUIDES.io

Real life pattern libraries, code standards documents and content style guides.

06. Living Style Guides for Digital Products

With Catalog you combine design documentation with real, live components in one single place, making collaboration between designers and developers seamless.

07. SMASHING TV

Monthly webinars with practical techniques and solutions. Conversations, not just talks - and "show-me-how-you-work" sessions on front end, User Experience, design and everything in between. With smart cookies from the web industry. Moderated by Vitaly Friedman.

08. Yesenia Perez-CRUZ

Yesenia Perez-Cruz, ia a Boricua designer based out of Philadelphia. She's Design Director at Vox Media leading the on-platform user experience and design system of  The Verge, Vox, SB Nation, Eater, Polygon, Racked, Curbed, and Recode.

She has spoken around the world at conferences like An Event Apart, Velocity, and SXSW Interactive.

09. RGB CONVERTER

I use this site all the time - easy to use, does what you need it to do, in any direction. RGB --> HSL --> HSV --> hex --> CMYK . . . Love this.

10. TOPTAL

Great resource for simple, subtle background patterns without all the fuss.
